Taipei, Taiwan - January 16, 2001 - DSG Technology
introduces a new version of its intelligent and
user-friendly Ethernet Phone "InterPhone" that now
supports H.323 protocol and is interoperable with
Cisco Gateways.
InterPhone is an intelligent Ethernet phone combining
VoIP, digital phone, and mini-hub functions. It
is the latest addition to DSG's full series of VoIP
products. InterPhone is in essence a migration to
IP telephony with the coexistence of circuit switched
networks. This dual Internet/PSTN interface enables
users to receive calls simultaneously from both
the Internet and PSTN lines. InterPhone's built-in
mini-hub relays the network to other nodes such
a PC. As a full-featured Ethernet phone, InterPhone
logically is equipped with speed-dial, speaker-phone,
auto-answer, mute, redial, and hold functions. There
is also a LCD display providing users with friendly
snapshots of setup guidance, connection quality,
calling party identification and conversation status.
Other notable features include automatic on-line
software upgrades and an optional build-in digital
answering machine.
With full duplex, echo cancellation algorithm and
dynamic jitter control, InterPhone employs a state-of-the-art
voice processing technology that is fully H.323
compliant, supporting G.711, G723.1 and G.729 CODECs.
InterPhone is under testing to incorporate MGCP
protocol. SIP protocol compliance will also be added
soon. Most noteworthy is InterPhone's interoperability
with Cisco VoIP Gatway 2600, 3600 and 5300 series.
