DSG Technology Announces New Ethernet Phone Integrating
VoIP, Digital Phone and Mini-Hub Functions |

Taipei, Taiwan - December 15, 2000 - DSG Technology,
a VoIP total solutions provider, today launched
its new generation of VoIP terminal "InterPhone".
InterPhone is an Ethernet phone combining VoIP,
digital phone and mini-hub functions. The dual Internet/PSTN
interface design enables users to easily receive
phone calls from both the Internet and regular telephone
lines at the same time via the existing network
and telephony systems.
InterPhone provides users a migration to IP telephony
with the coexistence of circuit switched telephony.
With interfaces to both the Internet and PSTN, InterPhone
allows users to initiate, pick up and hold phone
calls over packet and circuit switched telephony
systems at the same time. By deploying InterPhone,
users will be given an additional option of economic
and agile voice communication over the Internet.
In addition to providing VoIP solution, with a built-in
mini-hub InterPhone relays the network to the other
nodes such as a PC to organize users' desktop. InterPhone
has a LCD display providing snapshots of setup guidance,
connection quality, calling party identification
and conversations status. Being a full-featured
Ethernet Phone, InterPhone also provides speed dial,
speakerphone, auto answer, mute, redial, and hold
functions. Users can also use the auto upgrade function
to download the latest software version for answering
machine and more functions.
Consistent with DSG's series of VoIP products, InterPhone
inherits the cross communication capability between
the Internet and PSTN. Supported by DSG Internet
Telephony Network, users are able to make Internet
calls to worldwide regular phone users; regular
phone users can also make phone calls to the regional
access of the telephony network and be connected
to any InterPhone users.
By deploying InterPhone, users can make the best
utilization of their IP networks. InterPhone provides
Ethernet interfaces to Leased Lines, xDSL and Cable
Modem. It can also be configured to IP network automatically
via the Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP). InterPhone
can be managed remotely using Telnet.
InterPhone is incorporating G.723.1, G. 711 and
G.729 protocols and offering full duplex, echo cancellation
algorithm and ultra-low latency jitter control.
In response to customer demands, InterPhone will
soon support H.323, MGCP and SIP compliant applications.
